Straight from Patio Daddio himself, here is how you to can cook Klement's sausage to perfection. Don't forget to always use a tongs! Using a fork can puncture Klement's sausage and can cause the sausage to lose its excellent flavor we are known for. Check our Recipe Section for new ideas on how to prepare Klement's products.


Fresh Sausage Cooking Instructions

Steam: Place approximately 3/4 cup water in skillet. Lay sausage in pan, cover and steam at low heat for 12 minutes; remove cover, turn heat slightly higher and brown sausage. Never puncture sausage with fork. Always use tongs when turning sausage so that the sausage will retain the entire special flavor developed by Klement's. Cooking time approximately 30-35 minutes.

Broil: For that crispy, brown, delicious taste, cover bottom of broiler pan with water and place sausage on rack. Rack should be 5-6 inches from broiler element. Broil approximately 10-12 minutes on each side.

Charcoal Grill: Let the charcoal burn until they are glowing, white-ash embers. Place links on grill and brown gently, turning the sausage often with a tongs. When possible, keep grill covered. Allow 30-35 minutes for sausage to cook thoroughly. When inside is no longer pink, sausage is done.

Gas Grill: Pre-heat the gas grill. Place the sausage on the grill over a medium flame for 30-35 minutes. Turn the sausage often with a tongs until they are a golden brown.



Smoked Sausage & Pre Cooked Sausage Cooking Instructions

Steam: Heat Sausage by dropping lightly into boiling water; turn off heat- DO NOT BOIL. Approximate cooking time is 10 minutes.

Fry: Place small amount of butter or shortening in skillet with sausage. Cook over low heat for 5-8 minutes. Never puncture sausage with fork; always use tongs when turning so the sausage will retain its natural juices.

Broil: Cover bottom of broiler pan with water, place sausage on rack. Rack should be 5-6 inches from broiler element. Broil approximately 5-8 minutes or until golden brown.

Grill: Brown gently over low embers on a charcoal grill; using tongs when turning sausage. Cooking time approximately 5-8 minutes.

Microwaving Pre Cooked Links: Remove sausage from pack and place in a microwave safe dish. Add just enough water to cover sausage. Cover the dish and heat on high for 1-2 minutes. Turn links and heat again 1-2 minutes. Allow sausages stand for 1-2 minutes before serving.

Microwaving Pre Cooked Loops and Rings: Remove sausage from pack and puncture sausage with fork. In a microwave-safe dish, heat on high for 3-4 minutes until heated through. For Ring Bologna, Peel, slice and enjoy.



Honest to Grillness Sausage Cooking Instructions

Microwave: Place links on a microwaveable dish in center of microwave oven, cover with paper towel. See table for cooking times. Allow cooked sausage to stand 1 minute prior to serving.

Microwave Cooking times
1 Link 1:00-1:30 Minutes
3 Links 2:00-2:30 Minutes
5 Links 3:30-4:30 Minutes

Skillet Heating: Place links on an unheated skillet. Add 1/3 cup of water, cover, heat on medium. Cook for 10-15 minutes turning often. Cook to an internal temperature of 160F prior to serving.
